Heap: half of it.
What you hire it for: Say what the numbers did, without opening Heap.
There are two products inside Heap: something that collects data, and a dashboard on top of it. The collection is real infrastructure and we do not touch it. The dashboard is a page you pay for monthly and open rarely, and an agent that emails you the same numbers with the change already worked out is usually the better version of it.
What the agent does
- Pulls from any REST analytics API you connect
- Always compares against the previous period
- Offers one likely explanation, clearly marked as a guess
What it does not
- Collect the data
- Replace the thing doing the measuring
Before you pay anyone
The free way to do Heap’s job
These are real, and we would rather you heard it here. Each one is free in money and costs something else — the catch is written next to it.
None of these do the work. They are somewhere to put it. Your posting queue was not empty because the scheduler cost money, and a free scheduler you have to host yourself will be just as empty on Monday. Our agent is the part that fills it — and it works the same whether the thing underneath is free or paid.
The agent that does it
Analytics Agent
Pulls your numbers every Monday and tells you what moved and why.
Things people ask it
- “What changed this week?”
- “Pull last month's signups”
- “Which number should I worry about?”
No card. It turns on immediately, and you only pay if you want to keep it past the first hour.
